Trespass: Uncommissioned Public Art

Updates from and letters to the editor

Carlo McCormick

When it comes to signing on a project that other writers would have said was impossible — to place graffiti and Street Art side by side, for example — you need someone versed in art, counter-culture and experienced history to steer the boat above the divisions. That is Carlo McCormick. A generalist he calls himself, and his knowledge, community ties, and unconventional ways of working brought to Trespass the unity of “Uncommissioned Public Art”.
“If we are to believe in the power of ideas, as we must,” he writes, “we must understand that it is not in the thoughts we keep to ourselves but only in their sharing that ideas attain their potential.”
“All the world is indeed a stage, and it is just a matter of enterprising individuals to take over the role of director in improvising a new reality.”
That is another quote from his chapters for Trespass.
